Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar to bring coolest English series to town

Filmmaker Karan Johar and actress Alia Bhatt will now be seen as co-curators of Viacom18's two new English entertainment channels - Colors Infinity and Colors Infinity HD.
The duo has curated the line-up of shows for the channel, said Ferzad Palia, executive vice-president, Viacom18 and head, English entertainment.
"Both of them are heavy consumers of English content. Karan has been associated with us for many years. When we decided to do this, he was instantly interested because he watches a lot of this content and has suggested a lot of good shows to us. Since Karan also knows Alia well, who is also a heavy consumer of this content, she also agreed to be a part of it," he told IANS.
The network has entered into major multi-year deals with Warner Bros. International Television Distribution, NBC Universal, Sony Pictures Television, Twentieth Century Fox, Lionsgate, MGM, BBC and Endemol Shine among others.
"All of the content that we will be airing will be exclusive to the channel. It is an unprecedented list of acquisitions. Almost all of the content has never been seen in the country before. It is a goal to show the audience content which is new," he added.
Speaking on the collaboration with the channel, Karan Johar said in a statement: "With infinitely amazing content and game-changing new programming, I feel Colors Infinity will make sure English entertainment in India is never the same again."
Actress Alia Bhatt said the channel will "rise above" and create "amazing" content.
"By bringing India the latest and hottest new English shows, I believe Colors Infinity will rise above the white noise and create something amazing," she said.
The channel will boast of content that will span genres such as drama, superheroes, comedy, fantasy, crime and thrillers.
Additionally, it will focus on reality television with shows based on dancing, cooking, magic, singing and other lifestyle interests.
"It is a golden age for television. It is fascinating to see how much TV has evolved in the US and UK. The number of TV shows have grown approximately four times. There could not be a better time for us to explore this opportunity," said Palia.
"The audiences are moving to TV series from films. The scope of production has also increased. Our shows are heavily invested in by their creators," he added.

Bollywood Actress Katrina Kaif’s Questionable Bio: Doubts About Indian Heritage

 




Watching Katrina Kaif's films, one thing stands out above all else. She, more than likely, has no Indian blood of any sort running through her gorgeous body. Not that it really matters in the overall scheme of things, but to hold her up as a shining example of Indian heritage could be construed as a little bit hypocritical. Filmmakers in Bollywood, it could be argued, have tapped into the normal tendency to make stars of lighter skinned people. Brazil does, the US and Italy do it. It's common. So, what of the doubts of her supposed Indian heritage?

"Kat got her break in the industry in a film called Boom. At the time she was called Katrina Turquotte, but a producer on the film, who helped engineer Kat's entry into acting, decided Indian audiences weren't ready to accept a fully Anglo actress, so the last name "Kaif" was invented for her. She was even given a back story of having a Kashmiri father. Last year Kaizad Gustad, the director of Boom, came forward to state unequivocally that Katrina Kaif is not Indian."
A photo of Katrina, with her family, was revelatory. If there is Indian blood in her family, it left Katrina's sisters untouched. A look at the photo and you see a pretty normal looking English family. Katrina's duskier complexion in her Bollywood films, based on the Katrina in the photo, is the work of master make-up artists.

Second Hand Husband review and rating – Gippy Grewal finds husband for Geeta Basra

Story: Gippy Grewal, a Punjabi singer, essaying as Rajbir is seen flirting with Gurpreet, played by Tina Ahuja. But Gippy and Gurpreet cannot get married because, Rajbir is already married to Neha (Geeta Basra). He cannot divorce her too.. as he cannot give Alimony to Neha every month. At last, Neha agrees for the divorce, on a condition that, Gippy has to find a suitable husband for her. Now, they two starts finding a suitable husband for Neha. This story will be entirely new for the audiences and before knowing the entire story, it will be a nice if you just walk in to theaters and see this story because you will lose the thrill if the entire story is revealed.

Music: The title song “Second Hand Husband” which was sung by Gippy Grewal, was so delightful and singer Jatinder Shah has given his voice for “Rabb Jaisa” in a very pleasant manner. This makes the music lovers to listen this song again and again.

Artists Performance: Punjabi rock star who made his debut with this film, stood special by gathering the eyeballs of the audiences with his stunning action and spontaneous dialogues. Geeta Basra looked so hot than Govinda’s daughter Tina Ahuja. Even performance wise, she exceeded Tina. Remaining stars did their best in their respective roles.

Plus Points: Gippy’s awesome performance, Veteran actor Dharmendra’s sense of humor and Harbhajan Singh (Bhajji’s) funny timing, all these added an advantage in this film.

Minus Points: Tina Ahuja’s average performance and the first half of the film seems to be an average. There are few unwanted characters which can be avoided

Analysis: This films deals with a new story where, Gippy and Geeta looked apt in their characters with their spontaneous dialogues and witty statements. Fun lasts till the end of the film.

Verdict: “Second Hand Husband” will make you to laugh.

Last Word: Geeta Bishra played a lead role in this film and she charms the audiences with her beauty. This film will be entirely new for the audiences with interesting twists.

Raveena Tandon recalls her ‘Aks’ film struggle!!

 

Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra is an Indian director and screenwriter who majorly works for the Bollywood films. Latest update is that on speaking at an event Raveena Tandon who is an actress and film maker speaks about her first negative role in the film.

She says When Rakeysh approached Raveen with supernatural thriller ‘Aks’ (The Reflection) she was very excited because it was the first time that she was offered a negative role in the film.

Raveena Tandon recalls her memories and says, “I’d already made the transition to intense dramatic roles like Daman which won me the National Award for Best Actress. And I shot simultaneously for Shool and Aks, both featuring Manoj (Bajpai), but while the former was a hardhitting crime drama with me as the simple, sari-clad wife, Aks was a performanceoriented film with a me in an ultra-glam role. I swept up all the popular awards that year and proved that you didn’t need to indulge in teary-eyed histrionics to be taken seriously as an actor,”

Raveena continues, “I could see that Amit uncle was surprised, maybe even peeved, at my behaviour but that was the only way I could look him straight in the eye as he loomed large in front of me and give him back a tooth for a tooth and an eye for an eye despite all the palpitations,” she laughs, adding that once they were done with those scenes she explained her erratic behaviour to Bachchan. “After that we went to the Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan sets where I was playing his sister and we had a rollicking time.”

She remembers the director who helped her to do her best. She says, “Whenever I was confused about a scene, I’d look up and Mehra would nod reassuringly, boosting my confidence,” she recalls.

Raveena revealed that she used to hear the hit song “Shubha Mudgal track, Raat aati hai” in her car, that too with high sound and says, “By the time it ended I had tears streaming down my face because it had so much soul and depth.Music really stirs me up,”

She reveals that these songs were framed by her at Filmistan studio, because choreographer Raju Sundaram had to gone to Chennai and says, “I was doing three shifts on three sets in the same studio. From 7 am to 2 pm I would shoot a song for the Manoj-Tabu starrer, Ghaath. The film had been offered to me but I couldn’t do it because of date clashes so since I had already been paid, the makers asked me to do a special appearance song,”

She says, “Cory Walia would request me to lie down on the sofa. I would instantly nod off and he would do my make-up while I slept. That was the only time I slept during those four days,”

Hema Malini accident: A four year old girl killed!

 



BJP MP Hema Malini, who is also fondly known as B’town’s ‘dreamgirl’ was severely bruised in a car accident last night, which took place in Dausa, Rajasthan. Reports suggest that she was headed to her constituency in Mathura when the incident happened. Hema was in a Mercedes which collided with a Maruti Alto. As a result, a four year old girl passed away and reports suggest that she died on the spot. Her brother and mother on the other hand were severely injured and rushed to the hospital immediately. The girl’s name was Sonam and Anushuman Bhomia, Dausa Superintendent of Police, while talking about her to a leading media channel informed,” Five people were injured and out of them Sonam died. Sonam’s mother and brother have been referred to SMS (Sawai Man Singh) hospital.”
Rajasthan’s Chief Minister took to Twitter in order to mourn the death of the four year old.” Deeply saddened by the news of Dausa accident. I pray for the victims. We’re making all efforts to provide immediate relief and medical care.” she tweeted.

Hema Malini accident: The BJP MP’s driver arrested for speeding

 





We have been giving you updates about the accident which took place in Dausa last night, involving Bollywood’s ‘dreamgirl’ and BJP’s MP Hema Malini. Reports suggest that Hema was returning from her constituency in Jaipur when the incident occurred. A few minutes ago, BollywoodLife informed its readers that a four year old girl has passed away due to the accident and reports suggest that she died on the spot. Her brother and sister on the other hand were severely injured and were rushed to the hospital. Hema reportedly suffered severe injuries on her eyes, back and legs. Latest updates on this accident suggest that Hema’a driver, who was driving a Mercedes, was speeding and has been arrested.
A senior police officer named Rajendra Tyagi while talking to NDTV about the incident said,”I am being told the Mercedes was speeding. It drove over the divider.” He went on to state that the driver of the opposite car(Alto) may have been inattentive while entering the Highway.  Hema reportedly suffered injuries on her eyes, back and legs. She was taken to a hospital in Jaipur and received four stitches for her injuries.
