Rekha and Katrina Kaif bond in Kashmir

Every actress from the newer generation idolizes Rekha. Katrina Kaif is no exception. The two actresses who come together for the first time in Abhishek Kapoor's Fitoor are now on a firm footing.

The usually-reserved Katrina Kaif never known to pal up with any of her female co-stars (Katrina has a reputation for hanging out on the sets with her male co-stars) seems to have warmed up to the super-iconic Rekha in the freezing cold of Srinagar. Says a source from Kashmir, "The two of them were constantly chatting. Katrina seemed to be collecting guru gyan from Rekha all through the schedule."

Rekha says she has known Katrina Kaif from the time the younger actress dated Salman Khan. Says Rekha, "I am working with Katrina in my new film Fitoor. She's someone I've known from the time she'd drop in to meet Salman Khan who is my neighbour. I'll be busy with that from January to July."

Though Katrina Kaif refused to comment on Rekha, a source close to Katrina explains, "She doesn't want to come across as a star-struck fan."

Rekha is all praise for the director, "Abhishek Kapoor is a very talented boy. I am looking forward to seeing how he has interpreted the original novel (Charles Dickens' Great Expectations). I've done a screen adaptation like Khoon Bhari Maang before. It will be interesting to see where the director takes this adaptation."

Rekha plays a character called Hazrat. The character exists in two time zones, in the 1970s and the present time. Aditi Rao Hydari plays Rekha's character in the 1970s.
