"Desi Magic is a respite after a long dry spell of South remakes" - Ameesha Patel

Ameesha Patel is super elated. Her labor of love Desi Magic has finally been unveiled. As a matter of fact this pretty much came as a surprise as the actress-producer didn't make much of a noise in days and weeks leading to the teaser being unveiled. However when she eventually did, viewers were in for a pleasant surprise as the look and feel of the one minute cut from the film did turn out to be impressive enough.

"It is catching people's eye because it has been made with heart and soul. It is not a project but a work of passion," says Ameesha Patel, who has tied up with friend and business associate Kuunal Goomer for the making of the film, "When you work on a film with that kind of emotion, it doesn't come across as work. That's because you are so happy making the film, and that's something which is showing in the film."

In the film, Ameesha is playing the dual role of Sonia Saxena and Mahi Deol who decide to swap themselves. While Sonia is superhot and comes from urban contemporary background, Mahi is super cool who comes from the interiors. Both of them have a mind of their own though.

Though it is just a minute of the teaser that has been revealed so far, which primarily focuses on Ameesha Patel, one gets an impression of a fun film in the offering.

"I am glad that all around response for the teaser has been promising so far. There is appreciation coming in where film is being called grand, glossy and colorful. What really made me feel really good is one such compliment where it was mentioned that Desi Magic doesn't come across as an amateur production and appears to be coming from those who are used to be making films," smiles Ameesha, who has roped in first time director Mehul Atha for the film, which also stars Zayed Khan and Sahil Shroff as the two male counterparts, "It is being said that it is carrying the stamp of a Yash Raj or Dharma. Now that's huge."

One now waits the theatrical promo of the film. That would come too, but for now the teaser has done its job to tease audience," says Ameesha in a tongue in cheek tone, "Whether it is industry or the social media, there are good words flowing in, which is pretty heartening. Audience would find a good balance between Indian culture and foreign land with Desi Magic. It is vibrant and comes as a breath of fresh air, something that should be a respite in itself, considering the fact that we have had a long dry spell of South remakes."

Now that's one truth we won't argue about!
