From ‘Refugee’ To ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan': Kareena Kapoor’s 15 Glorious Years In Bollywood




From taking birth in a royal family of Indian cinemas, to getting married with 10th Nawab of Pataudi, Kareena Kapoor Khan is always in limelight.During her school days, she had a dream of becoming a lawyer. After completing three months course in Information Technology and Microcomputers from Harvard, she joined Government Law College in Churchgate, Bombay.But just after one year she left it and got enrolled in the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting School and that’s where her inclination towards acting began. It’s the time now she has completed fifteen glorious years in Bollywood.She debuted her career in the year 2000 with the film ‘Refugee’ along with Abhishek Bachchan. The film was a grand success at the box office and got the tag of fifth highest grossing film of the year 2000. Also, Kareena won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debutant for the film.She has appeared in around 45 movies, giving 5 blockbusters and 8 hits.  Despite of her 22 flop films, she has always been praised and appreciated for her dedication. She is known for showcasing her natural talent.Not many of you may know, but Karishma and Kareena were the first women from Kapoor family tree to act in Bollywood.In 2001, five of her movies were released and for the very first-time she was nominated in the Best Actress category of Filmfare Awards for her films Asoka and Ajnabee.Karan Johar’s ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’ proved to be the game changer for Kareena’s Bolywood career. And in 2004, Kareena came up with 5 back to back hits and grabbed a Filmfare Award for ‘Chameli’Her famous blockbusters like Jab We Met, 3 Idiots, Golmaal Returns, Golmaal 3 were always been among the first choice of Bollywood fans.In her 15 years of journey in Bollywood, she has won about 57 awards and 71 nominations. It is the hard work and dedication of Kareena which paved the way for her success. And now, as we all know, the diva doesn’t need any introduction!
