The Bombay High Court on Wednesday adjourned hearing of
Salman Khan's appeal against his conviction in the 2002 hit-and-run
case to July 13.
This is the second adjournment in the appeal hearing.
Senior
counsel Amit Desai, representing the actor, sought more time from the
court. The prosecution accused the defense of employing delaying
tactics.
"This is nothing but killing time," public prosecutor Sandeep Shinde told Justice A.R. Joshi.
The
defense said they received the paper book of the case on Tuesday
evening and needed time to verify all the documents were in place. They
also sought time to prepare translations of Marathi documents.
The
court, however, rejected the defense’s demand for three weeks time and
kept the matter for July 13, keeping in mind "earlier directions of the
court" to expedite the appeal hearing.
